4. The Jock Pub & Grill
The Jock Pub & Grill is about as ‘Nelspruit’ as it gets, this has always been THE spot, the spot where old friends meet and new ones are made. Offering a large open outdoor seating area under large indigenous trees, giving visitors such a relaxed atmosphere, they might forget they are in the middle of town. The Jock has some of the best local cuisine, ranging from biltong pizza to dynamite peri peri chicken. Established in 1995, The Jock grew up with Nelspruit and is now considered a Lowveld legend. If you are looking to get to know the Nelspruit culture, The Jock Pub & Grill is the best place to be.

5. Sophies Bistro
Sophies is a small owner run bistro located just outside of Nelspruit city, at the picturesque Halls Farmstall. They offer a wide variety of cuisine from not only South Africa, but some dishes from Mozambique as well. This little bistro makes you feel right at home with its relaxing atmosphere and great customer service. Sophies locally source all their produce to get it as fresh as possible in order to get some of the best tasting local dishes possible.

6. The GlassBar
The GlassBar is a trendy, up-beat meeting place serving light meals and some of the best cocktails in town. Not only do they have good cocktails, but they have good views; the GlassBar has windows from the floor to the ceiling, giving you the best view of the city possible. The GlassBar is the perfect spot for sun-downers after work or some pre-concert drinks with friends. Their menu consists of a selection of Mini Burger sliders, a range of platters and home-made pizza. The bar also offers Free Wi-Fi for those interested.

Rocomamas is a very casual burgers, ribs and wings restaurant, the type of place you go to when you are extremely hungry. The vibe is great with a really open and airy restaurant, topped with great customer service. If you do plan on going to Rocomamas, make sure you’re really hungry as they offer customers the opportunity to build their own burger, or pick something else from the menu instead. Rocomamas like to indulge in the extravagant side of life with their “freak-shakes” featuring flavours such as “slow death by chocolate”, “Candyliscous”, “Peanutology” and “Surprise Me!”. Rocomamas are sure to deliver an unforgettable experience.

Many people in Nelspruit consider Stefanos to have the best pizzas in town, cooked to perfection in a wood-fired pizza oven. Stefanos offers not only pizzas but a variety of other dishes, such as seafood, lamb shank and Mozambican peri peri chicken.
